General Range Rules

Rules

1) Ranges are open to members and their in­vited guests only, except for "Open to the Public" events 
 2) Consumption of alcoholic beverages on any range is prohibited.
 3) Carrying of loaded firearms off range is prohibited except while hunting and holstered handguns carried by properly licensed individuals
4) Specific range rules are posted on each range, and violators will be subject to disci­plinary action by the BOD.


Use of the Range is MEMBERS ONLY; unauthorized use will be considered trespassing.

Members must complete a range orientation by the Range Committee before use of the range.

Members are required to display proof of membership upon request.

Shooting is only allowed from 9:00AM to 9:00PM, unless range is closed.


Safety Rules for the WSA Range are:

Always keep your finger off the trigger

Always keep the firearm unloaded and open until ready to shoot

Treat every firearm as if it is loaded at all times

Always shoot into the backstops, which are at either 25 yards or 100 yards

Operating Rules for the WSA Range are:

The range safety sign in the main parking lot must be changed to indicate range in use

Enter and exit from the rear of the range cover, DO NOT WALK ONTO THE RANGE TO ENTER THE COVER

The range is separated between the 25yard backstop and 100 yard, shooting for each side is ONLY permitted in each appropriate area

Junior members are not permitted to use range alone unless approved by the Range Committee

Members are responsible for the action of their guests, any infractions will result in disciplinary actions on the member

Eye and ear protection is required for all shooters

Alcoholic beverages are NOT allowed on any range in use

You are not permitted to use the range AFTER consuming alcohol

Explosive targets are not permitted on range

.50 caliber rifle, all tracer and incendiary rounds are not permitted

After dark, shooting is permitted under range lights, but only on the 25 yard range

“Dud” or misfired ammo is to be disposed in the WHITE “Dud Ammo” receptacle only

Paper targets should be mounted using the appropriate stands at the proper height to allow the shots to land in the backstops

Metallic targets are not permitted unless approved by the Range Committee before use

Brass is to be swept up and disposed of in the yellow “brass” receptacle

Clean up the trash and dispose of it in the proper bins

Proper Range Commands 

Before going downrange communicate with people on the range

If the range is asked to go COLD, verbally declare the rand COLD

Place all firearms UNLOADED and OPEN down or HOLSTERED

Do not load ammo

Keep your focus on the person on the range

Before the range goes HOT

Check your surroundings, make sure EVERYONE has their ear and eye protection on before verbally declaring the range is HOT

Once everyone has their ear and eye protection on commence firing



Violators of these rules will be subject to disciplinary action by the BOD.
